Will of Brown, William 1730
In the Name of God Amen
I William Brown of Colebrook in the County of Bucks Husbandman
calling to mind the uncertainty of Life in this world do make this my last
Will and Testament in manner and form following first and principally
I commit my soul into the hands of God who gave it trusting for a free
pardon of my sins through the Merits of Christ my Redeemer my body
I commit to the Earth to be decently buried at the direction of my Executor
hereafter named and as to such worldly Estate which it hath pleased God
to bless me with in this Life I give and dispose of the same as followeth
Imprimis I give devise and bequeath unto my Daughter Jane the wife of
Robert Andrew All that my Cottage or Tenement with the Appurtenances
Situate in Colebrook in the parish of Horton now in the occupation of
Mary Mew widow To have and to hold unto my said daughter Jane
and her a assigns for and during the Term of her natural life and from
and immediately after her decease I give and devise and bequeath the same
into my Grandson Joseph Andrews son of my said daughter Jane and
his heirs and assigns for ever Item I give devise and bequeath unto my
Son Joseph Brown all that my Cottage or Tenement wherein I do dwell
with the appurtenances situate in Colnbrook aforesaid in the said parish
of Horton To have and to hold into my said son Joseph and his heirges
and assigns for ever Item All the rest and residue of my Estate whether
real and personal of what kind or nature so ever I give and devise and
bequeath unto my said son Joseph he paying thereout unto my son
William Brown one Guinea only and Lastly I do hereby make constitute
and appoint my said son Joseph Brown full and sole Executor of this my
last will and Testament In witness whereof I the said William Brown
the testator have here unto set my hand and seal the Eighth day of August
in the fourth year of the Reign of my Soverign Lord George the
second by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King
Defender of the faith &c. And in the year of Our Lord One thousand
Seven Hundred and Thirty. The mark of Wm Brown Signed sealed
published and declared by the said William Brown the Testator as
and for his last will and Testament in the presence of us who have
set our names as witnesses at the request and in the presence of the
said Testator Thomas Arnold Wiliam Hancks Danl Foster
