In the Name of God Amen

Henry Bullock the Elder of Poyle in the parish of Stanwell

in the County of Middlesex Leather Dresser do make and declare

this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following

first I give unto my loving Wife Mary Bullock for and during 

her natural Life clear of all Parliamentary or other Taxes

Matters or things whatsoever one annuity or yearly Sum of Two 

hundred and Seventy pounds chargeable and payable out of all my 

freehold and Copyhold Messuages Lands Tenements and hereditaments 

and Moneys in Trade herein after given unto my Eldest Son John 

Bullock on the two most usual feasts or days of payment in the 

year that is to say the ammunition of the blessed Virgin Mary and 

the feast of Saint Michael the Arch Angel by even and equal 

portions the first of the of the said payments to begin and to be made 

on such of the said feast days  which shall next after 

my decease and I direct that it shall and may be lawfull to 

and for my said Wife to enter into and upon the said

Messuages Lands Tenements and premisses and to distrain for the

said Annuity when and so often as the same or any part thereof

shall be in arrears or unpaid together with the charges of such 

distress in the same or the like manner and as fully and 

Effectually as in case of any Rent reserved on any Lease Also

I give unto my said wife for the Term of her natural life 

clear of all deductions as aforesaid one other annuity or yearly 

Sum of Thirty pounds chargeable on and payable out of the 

freehold and Copyhold Messuages Lands Tenements and 

hereditaments hereinafter given unto my Second Son Henry

Bullock at two of the most usual feasts  or days of payment 

before mentioned by even and equal portions the first payment

to begin and be made on such of the said feast days as shall

happen next after my decease with the like power of Entry and

distress into and upon the premisses as I hve willed and directed 

touching her other annuity of Two Hundred and Seventy pounds

charged upon my lands and Estate given to my said son John 

as aforesaid Also I give unto my said Wife Two hundred pounds 

for her own use and benefit to be paid her as soon as conveniently 

may be after my decease and further I give unto my said wife 

all my Jewells Plate Linen household Goods and furniture and

I direct that my said Wife shall have for the Term of her life 

the Use and possession of such part of the dwelling house wherein 

I now live as she shall chase and think proper of her habitation

and also goos and convenient Stable Room for three Horses with 

full Liberty and power to put up Annually aReek or Stark of 

Eight loads of. good Hay such as she or her servants shall 

approve of in a convenient place near the stable and likewise

what Straw she shall want for the saidHorses she paying 

Twelve pounds ayear for the Hay and Straw Dry Will and Mind

further us that my said Wife shall have free Dugress and Egress 

Regress by herself Servants or whom else she shall appoint to 

and from the same without paying or allowing any Rent Taxes 

or other Considerations for the same Also I give and devise unto


my Said Son John Bullock and to his heirs and assigns forever 

All those my freehold Mills called Poyle Mills five acres of meadow 

Land more or less called Sock Closes Two Acres more or less of 

Meadow Land on the North side of the River three Acres more 

or less Meadow Land called Barn Close the dwelling house wherein 

my said son Henry dwelleth belonging to the said Mills and all

outhouses buildings Lands Meadows hereditaments and appurts 

to the said Mills and dwelling house belonging and scituate at 

poyle aforesaid and also all those my Messuages or Tenements 

situate in Colnbrook in the parish of Stanwell aforesaid and 

now in the possession of John Passingham Robert Pavison Alice

Suckett and      Passingham Jun:  Also all that my dwelling 

house in Colnbrook late in the occupation of Tho: Slaughter 

and was divided into seven tenements and also fourteen acres more

or less of Meadow land lying on the South Side of the last 

mentioned  Seven Tenements in the said parishes of Stanwell 

and Horton and also all that copyhold close arable and meadow 

ground containing four acres more or less lying near Staines

Lane in the parish of Stanwell all which premisses I purchased 

of doctor Clarke Willshaw and also all those freeholds and

Copyhold Lands situate in the parishes of Stanwell of Staines

in the County of Middlesex purchased of Mrs Vopshott and son 

now in the possession of Michael Crew and the little Piece of 

ground I purchased of Michael Crew situate in stanwell together

with all houses outhouses buildings and appurtenances to the 

said premisses belonging or in any wise appertaining with all

my Money  in Trade Subject to and charged with the payment of the 

said annuity of Two Hundred and seventy pounds to my 

said wife for her life in manner aforesaid Also I give and 

devise unto my second son Henry Bullock and his heirs and 

assigns forever all that my freehold Messuage Tenement and 

Malthouse situate and being in the parish of Bray in the 

County of Berks and now in the possession of Mr Asherwood 

and also all those my retee Messuages Tenements and dwelling 

houses situate in Colnbrooke in the parish of Horton in the 

County of Bucks and now in the occupations of Richard Warring 

John Gardener Thomas Nash? a Butcher and also a piece of 

Garden Ground let to Richard Hibbart And also all that Messuage

or Tenement in Colnbrook in the parish of Horton now in

the occupation of John Martin And also all my copyhold

Cottage of Tenement with the outhouses gardens and

Appurtenances thereto belonging there to situate and being in Wyradisbury 

in the said County in Bucks and now in the possession of

Elizabeth Pritty and also all that my Copyhold Cottage

Gardens and Outhouses situate and being in the parish of 

Stanwell in the County of Middlesex and now in the possession 

of Ralph Dean and purchased by me of Tho Als? in the Yard 

and Garden thereunto belonging and also all those six acres 

of freehold meadow grounds more or less called the Lawns 

purchased of Lord Dunmore being in the parish of Stanwell 

now in the possession of John Parrat  and also all the Water to 

the same and also all that my freehold Messuage or Tenement 

situate and being at Stains in the county of Middlesex and 

now in the Tenure of Edward Hawkins Tanner or his 

under tenants together with all houses outhouses buildings and appurts

to the said premisses belonging on in anywise appertaining 

subject to and charged with the payment of the said annuity 

of Thirty Pounds to my said wife for her life  in manner 

aforesaid and also I give unto my son Henry Bullock One

hundred pounds to be paid at my decease and a further sum

of two hundred pounds to be paid at the expiration of two

years after my wife’s decease and to pay four p[er]cent til the Two 

hundred pounds are paid Also I give and bequeath unto my 

third son Joseph Bullock Thirty pounds to be paid at my 

decease and bequeath to my fourth son Thomas 

Bullock One hundred pounds to be paid at my decease and a 

further sum of two hundred pounds to be paid at the Expiration

of two years after my wife’s decease and I do will and direct 

my executor shall pay four pounds percent per annum Interest

for the said two hundred pounds from the time of my 

wife’s decease until the principle money be paid I give unto 

my son in Law Sir James Hodges Knight one hundred pounds
