In the Name of God Amen

I Thomas Wells of Colnbrook in the parish of 

Horton in the County of Bucks Victualler being 

weak in Body but of sound and disposing Mind

Memory and understanding do make this my 

last will and testament in Manner following I

give devise and bequeath all that my Cottage 

and Garden with the appurtenances thereto in

belonging situate in the parish of Englefield in

the Country of Berks and now in the occupation of 

my sister Elizabeth Wilkings to my said said Sister 

Elizabeth Williams for and during her natural life

and from and after her decease to my Son

William his heirs and assigns for ever I give

and bequeath all my plate linen China w[ith]

household goods and furniture and stock in traid

farming stock lease of lands and all other my 

goods Chattels Estate and Effects of what nature

and kind soever they may be at the time of 

my decease (they firstly paying thereout my just

debts and funeral and testamentary expences

to Hugh Plim of Iver in the County of Bucks

Farmer and Thomas of Maish of Colnbrook

aforesaid Butcher To hold to therein the said 

Hugh Plain and Thomas Maish Executors

admons and Assigns upon this special Trust and 

Confidence nevertheless that is to say that 

they my said Trustees or the survivor of them

of the Executors or admons of such survivor fo

and shall as soon as convenient after my

death sell and dispose thereof and call in and 

receive all such debts sum of sums of Money

as shall be one or owing to me at the time 

of my death and place the Monies arising

by such sale or disposal and the Monies so

be called in and received upon Government 

or other good and sufficient security in such 

manner as they shall thing proper and also

In Trust that they do and shall receive the 

Interest and dividends thereof from time to time

as the same shall become payable and pay

apply and dispose of the same for and towards

the maintenance Education Support and bringing

up of my Son William until he shall have 

attained the age of twenty one years and when

my said Son William shall have attained the 

age of twenty one years In trust to pay 

assign transfer and convey all the said Residue

of my Estate and Effects with the Interest

dividends and produce thereof as shall then

tenain to my said Son William but in case my 

said Son William should die before having and 

attained the age of twenty one years without

leaving lawful Issue then In Trust to pay

assign transfer and convey the said property to 

my aforementioned Sister Elizabeth Wilkins and 

my niece Mary Boulam? daughter of the late 

James Boulam? of Colnbrook aforesaid their 

respective heirs and assigns share and share 

alike and it is my Will and Meaning that my

said trustees or either of them shall not be

answerable for the acts deeds receipts or

disbursements of the other of them and I so-

hereby direct that my said Trustees shall and 

may reimburse themselves out to the aforesaid

residue of my estate and effects all reasonable 

charges and expenses whatsoever that they

either of them shall or my bear pay be put

unto or sustain in the execution of this my Will 

or the Trust hereby in then repose and lastly

I do nominate constitute and appoint my

said Trustees the said Hugh Plin and Thomas 

Maish Executors of this my last Will and Testament 

and Guardians of my son William and do 

hereby revoke all former will or wills by me at

any time heretofore made declaring this to be

my last In witness whereof I have hereunto

set my hand and seal this twenty fourth day 

of December in the year of our Lord one 

thousand eight hundred and three   The Mark

of Thomas Wells    Signed Sealed declared

as and for his last Will and Testament in the 

presence of us who at his request and in his 

presence have subscribers our Names as witnesses

thereto   Thomas Ashton  William Lewes  John Hetherington
