In the Name of God Amen 

I Elizabeth Virgo late of Horton and now of Colnbrook in 

the County of Bucks Widow do make this my last will and 

Testament in manner following My Sould will all humility

of Spirit I surrender unto God the Father my Creator in the 

merritts of God the Son my Redeemer My Body I commit 

yo the Earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my 

Executor herein after named Ans as to my Worldly Estate I 

dispose thereof in this manner First I Will that all such just

Debts as I shall owe at the time of my Death be fully paid

and satisfyed as soon as conveniently may be after my decease

I do give and forgive my Son Thomas Virgoe and Owing to 

me from him either my Book Bond Mortgage or otherwise 

at the time of my decease I likewise give and forgive my 

Son William Virgoe all such sum or sums of money that 

is are or shall be due and owing to my from him in any 

Amount or security whatsoever at the time of my decease I do

give and bequeath all those my four acres of arable land 

be the same more or less in Horton aforesaid now or late in 

the possession of William Powell which I purchased of the children

of Mr Daniel Burt as Nephews Nieces and devisees under the 

Will of William Hale late of Datchet in the said County of 

Bucks Yeoman deceased unto my son John Virgoe his heirs

and assigns for ever upon condition that my said son John 

Virgoe his heirs and assigns do pay or cause to be paid unto

my said son Thomas Virgoe his brother of his assigns One 

annuity or yearly sum of six pounds for and during the 

Term of his Natural Life free from all manner of taxes by 

equal half yearly payments The first payment thereof to

Commence from the first General Quarter day happening next 

after my decease I do give and bequeath unto my Sister Jane

Haynes the wife of William Haynes of Horton aforesaid in 

the said County of Bucks Yeoman One annuity or yearly

sum of forty shillings for and during the term of her 

Natural Life free from all manner of taxes to be paid in 

such manner and forme as the annuity or Legacy last above

mentioned is directed to be said son Thomas I do 

hereby subject charge and make lyable all my said freehold 

land in Horton aforesaid by me purchased of the Children

of the said Daniel Burt as aforesaid to and with the payment

of the aforesaid annuities of six pounds per annum to my 

said Thomas Virgo and forty shillings per annum to 

my said sister Jane Haynes as aforesaid I do give and devise

All that my Moiety of half part of my freehold land and 

Messuage or Tenement Barnes Outhouses and all and 

Singular other the premises with appurtenances thereunto

belonging now or late in the possession of Widow Barrett

situate lying and being at Denham in the County of Bucks

which I together with Mr Robert Shackley purchased of 

William Gilbert unto my daughter Jane Hampton wife of 

William Hampton of Thorney in the parish of Iver alias 

Ever in the said County of Bucks yeoman and her assigns

for and during the term of her Natural Life and from and 

after her decease I give and devise and bequeath my aforesaid

Moiety or half part of my said Land Messuage or 

Tenement and Premisses in Denham aforesaid to my Grandson

Virgo Hampton son of my said daughter Jane Hampton

and his heirs and assigns for ever  I do give and devise all 

those my three freehold messuages or Tenements situate lying 

and being on Colebrook in the parish of Langley Marish in 

the said County of Bucks and also my two acres of Meadow 

or pasture ground thereunto belonging lying and being in a 

certain Mead called Mea Hay in the said Parish of Langley 

Marish with their and every of their appurtenances unto my 

Two grandsons William and Henry Thomson sones of my late 

daughter Elizabeth Tomson deceased as Tenants in Common 

and not as Joint Tenants and to their heirs and assigns for

ever And I do hereby appoint Henry Thomson their father

their Guardian and do hereby authorise and Impower him to 

lett the same premises be lease or otherwise to the best

advantage for their good and benefit and for their better 

support and maintenance as ge shall think fit during their 

Minority But in case either of my said Grand Children to 

wit William and Henry Tomson shall happen to depart this 

Life under age and without issue of his body lawfully begotten

Then I do give and bequeath the part of share of him soe

dying of in and to the aforesaid premises unto the survivor

of them his heirs and assigns forever But if it shall happen 

that both my said Grandsons William & Henry Tomson 

shall depart this Life under age and without issue of either of 

their bodys lawfully begotten that then and in such case I do

give devise and bequeath all those my said three freehold 

Messuages or Tenements Meadow or Pasture Ground thereunto

belonging unot my Grand Children William John Virgoe Henry 

and Jane Hampton sons and daughter of my said daughter 

Jane Hampton as Tenants in Common and not as Joint 

Tenants and to their heirs and assigns forever and upon 

such contingency I do likewise the said William 

Hampton their father their father their Guardian and in like manner I

do hereby authorise and Empower him to let the same 

premises by lease or otherwise to the best advantage for 

their good and benefit for their better support and 

Maintenance as he shall think fit during their Minority I do 

give and devise my two cottages or Tenement with the yards

Gardens Outhouses and premises with the appurtenances thereto 

belonging situate and being in Colebrook aforesaid in a Lane

lading from the Chappell to the Mill there and now in the 

possession of Thomas Peirce and William Cully or one of them 

unto my Grandson Virgo Hampton son of my said daughter 

Jane Hampton and to his heirs and assigns for ever  I doe

give and devise unto my Grandchildren Martha Mary and 

Thomas Virgo son and daughter of my said son Thomas 

Virgo the sum of five pounds apiece to be paid unto their 

father by my executor hereinafter named within three years

next after my decease for their Good and Benefit and In 

trust for them till they attaine their respective ages of one and 

twenty years or day of marriage upon his giving his own 

Bond to my said Executor for paying the same accordingly

and in case any or either of my last mentioned grand children 

shall happen to dye before he she or they attain to the age of one and 

twenty years Then I do order and direct that the legacy of him 

her or them do dying shall fo and be paid to the survivors or 

survivor of them when the part or share of him her or them

so dying would when have become payable I do give and devise unto

my said daughter Jane Hampton wife of the said William 

Hampton my silver cup and tom my said Grand children

William John Virgoe Henry and Jane their sons and daughter 

the sum of five pound apiece to be likewise paid unto their said 

father by my executor within the like space of three years

next after my decease for the same purpose and under the like
