In the name of God Amen the xxvij th day of July in the first yeare of the Reigne
of our soverengine Lord James by the Grace of God of England France & Scotland
Kinge defender of the faithe ect. & of Scotland the xxxvij I Michaell
Goodyeare of Colebroke in the parishe of Horton in the county of Buck Inholder
beinge sicke in body but of good and perfect remembrance (praise bee unto All=
mightie God, doe ordaine constitute & make this my last will & testament in
maner & forme following first I comende my soule unto Almyghtie God belev-
ing in Jesu Christ that thoughe his death & mighte undues to be saved and my
body to bee decently buryed att the discretion of my good friendes
Item I give & bequeath unto Johan my wife all my now dwelling house with all the
lodgings, chambers, hall kitchen buttery roomed whatsoever with the bedding goodes and
furniture now remainynge & belonging to the same with all the benefitt of victuallinge & lodging
during her naturall life, excepting the garrett chamber with one bedd fur-
nished in the same which I bequeath unto John Goodyear my eldest sonne with free ingresse egresse & regies
into & out of the said roomes during the naturall life of the said Johan my wife, for
him and his assigns Item I give & bequeath unto John Goodyeare my said sonne all the benefitt
of the stable & hostry in suche maner & form as I myself have enjoyed the same & my will is that
hee shall enjoy it dueringe the life of my said wife. Item I give and bequeath into my said
sonne John all my landes & tenements to have & to hold to him & his heires forever (except my
dwelling house above mentioned duringe the naturall life of Johan my wife ) from & imediate
ly after the decease, and also except the Lyon & the land belonging unto the same, which
I give unto Willm Goodyear my youngest son & his heirs for ever, from and immediately after
the decease of Joham my wief. Item I will that Johan my wief shall have free liberty of ingress & ingress
& regresse for her self & her assigns into the yeards cloase & backside for wiath washing & driy
inge for cloathes & layinge placeings & fetchinge of her woode, to gither with the use & benefitt
of her garden & for the doinge of other necessities during her naturall life Item I give and bequeath
unto Thomas Goodyear my sonne one hundred poundes of lawfull money of England to bee payed unto him
by my executors within the space of one yeare next after he hathe served his apprentishippe, Pro-
vided that if my sonne Thomas shall decease before the tyme that the same hundred pounded should
bee payed unto him, Then I will that the said hundred poundes shall be equally devyded unto
my said sonnes John & Wylliam ayy such tymr as the same should have been paied into my sonne Tho
mas yf hee had lived or the whole hundred poundes to the survivor of them. att the same tyme
Item I give & bequeath to furnishe the same to bee delivered unto them within one yeare next
comminge after they have served their apprentishipps Itm I bequeath unto eyther of my said
two younger sonnes a cowe to be delivered unto them at the day of their several mariages Itm
I give and bequeath unto my fower servants five shillings a peece to bee paied unto them within one
monethe next after my decease Itm I give & bequeath unto Luce Clayton my wiefs daughter five
poundes of lawfull money of England to bee paied unto her within one yeare next after my decease
Itm I give unto Henry Pilgrome half a quarter of meslyne to bee paid unot him within one monthe
next after my decease Itm I give unto eyther of my Tenants Willaim Ewin & Jeffery Thare one bush-
ell of rye & to fower poore widowes xii d. apeece to bee distributed at the discretion of my
executors. The residew of all my goodes & called not given nor bequested & my funerall ended
I give them whollie unto John Goodyear my eldest sonne & Johan my wiefe whome I make the whol
executors of this my last will & testament Also I doe ordeine my good friends my brother
William Davis & Henry Shorter the overseers of this my said last will & testament & for
there paines I give unto them vj s. viij d. a peece and unto John Embrey ro minister vi s. viij d.

& year first above written.
