In the name of God Amen

the first day of July In the year of our Lord God One thousand

Six hundred fifty seven I George Buckingham of Stanwell

in the Countie of Middlesex Inholder having through the goodness 

of God attained to the age of three score and twelve years and being

att present in resonable good health and of sounde and perfect memorie

I give him praise and thankes for the sonn and all other his mani fold

blessings graciously  in his great mind vouchsafed unto my his … the 

servant remembring  and weighing that heavenly meaning delivered from

the Lord of heaven and Earth sett thine house in order for thou shalt

wherein it shall please God my Lord God to … and my soul and body

soe that my Wife and Children and all my friends I hope shall have 

cause to hold them solies quitee and contented with what I shall here

ordaine and line lovingly and peaceablie after my death without anie

suite controversie of unlindies which of hereby hartelie intreate them to

performe And to that and I doe now hereby make ordaine and declare

this my Testament containing therein my last Will in manner 

and forme following That is to say I first and principalle I commend

 my Soule into the hands of the Holie Trinitie God the father

God the Sonne and God the Holie Ghost thee persons and one Invisable

incomprehensible etenall most inst and exceeding mercifull God

trusting and assuredlie beleeving that through the merrites of Jesus 

 Christ my Lord and onlie Saviour without anie merritts of mine 

owne I shall be arquitted of all my sinns and shall enjoy eternal rest 

in his Kingdome and ac touching my Bodie now corriptiold which I

am assured not withsyanding I have been and unworthie and 

miserable sinner unworthie of the Least of Gods monies shall all the last

day be raised one with my soule shall in inheritt incorruption I bequeath 

to the Earth to here of it was first formed and will then it be buried in the 

parish Church of Stanwell in the Countie of Middlesex wherein I

now dwell or in anie other parish wherein Shall please God to instate 

my Soule and bodie as by the discretion of my Executor and Executrix 

shall be thought Contentent Item I will and my mind it that all 

my debts which I shall owe at the time of my death shall be truly and 

speedelie paid within a Convenient time as may be after my 

decease and if the debt owing to me all that time and my goods and

Chattels shall not be sufficient to pay the debts owing by me and to 

defray my funeral charges ( which I have they will due ) my mind 

is that my house in Stanwell Town which I bought of Master 

Slocombe and which I have surrendered unto my loving Wife Anne 

Buckingham her heirs and assignes for ever may be sold to make it up 

which I doubt not but the will perform Item I give devise and bequeath

unto my younger son Owen Buckingham and to the heirs of 

his body lawfullie to be gotten forever All that my freehold house 

and Land situate and being in Stanwell aforesaid which I not 

long since purchased of Master Thomas Sheerer deceased abd are

now now in the occupation of William Green Gentleman And

also I give unto him and his heirs an aforesaid all those my six acres 

of meadow ground be they more or less lying and being in Stanwell 

in a meadowe there Called Beakengrove And also those my three

Item I give and bequeath unto my sonne Owen an annuitie of five

pounds per Annum during his natural life to us … and payable to him

… yearlie from the time of my decease out of the house and Lands here 

in after given to my sonne George Item I give devise and bequeath to my sonne

… …he knowne or called by the name of ‘The Cottage’ situate and being

in Colebrooke and within the parish of Stanwell and together with

the Cross Keys peers and that my meadows called Broad mead and also

that my parcel of meadows called Long Mead all which lay and are within

the parish of Stanwell aforesaid and to the heirs pf his bodie lawfully

Annuitie og five pounds per Annum are being to my

marriage or the attaining of the age of one and twenty my

my Anne Selwin oweth me Twenty Seaven pounds my will and mind-

That the eldest of them that shall live shall mioy the afore saide twenty seaven

pounds a… Legacie bequeathed him or her by me but of my daughter shall

have noe more Children I forgive it unto my Sonne Selwin Item I give and 

and bequeath unto my Sister Ann Smith two shillings a week towards her

maintenance during her natural life which two shillings per weeks my will

and mind it shall be issueing and payable out of the house and Lands I 

have given my sonn George and to be paid her weekly or monthlie during 

her life  Item I give and bequeath unto my Loving Wife Ann Buckingham 

the two bedsteads and furniture there unto belonging in the Chamber or Parlor

in which wee lie Together with the Third of all my freehold Lands where-

soever or whatsoever which I hope will be  a Competent maintenance for

her And I due hereby make and ordain my aforesaid Wife and John Selwin 

my Sonne in Law the Executrix and Executor of this my last will and 

Testament whom I desire and discharge at they will answer all the 

dreadfull dew of Judgement to see this my will per … in all things And I

make and ordaine my Loving friend Master Thomas Sloper of Stanwell 

aforesaid and Master Henry Gode? of Colebrook
