In the name of god Amen

the fifth day of October in the five and thirtieth year of the reign of our

Sovereign Lord Charles the second by the Grace of God King of England 

Scotland France and Ireland and defender of the faith &c. Anno Dm One

thousand six hundred eighty three I Peter Child of Langley Marish in 

the County of Bucks Tanner being in good health of body and of good and

perfect disposing mind and memory praised be to Almighty God for the 

same but considering the frailty and condition of human nature and being 

minded to dispose of that small estate with which God in his mercy hath

given me in this world while he is please to give me time and opportunity 

do make and ordain this my least Will and testament in manner and 

form following that is to say first I give and bequeath my soul into 

the hands of Almighty God who gave it me trusting through the merits

death and passion of thy dearly beloved son Jesus Christ I shall 

remain with him forever hereinafter in glory And my body I give to 

the earth from whence it was taken directly to be buried at Langley 

Marish aforesaid at the discretion of my executor hereinafter named 

who I desire and direct and appoint not to exceed above the sum of twenty

pounds of lawful money of England And as for such worldly estate 

with which God in his goodness hath lent me in this life I give devise and 

bequeath the same in manner and form following Impris I give and 

bequeath unto my loving Wife Hannah Child all my household Goods

and household stuff implements and utensils of household goods and 

household stuff of what nature or kind soever they be together with 

my best Cow that I shall die possessed of And whereas by one Bond 

or obligation of the penalty of two hundred pounds bearing date the 

fifth day of October I am held and firmly bounden to Thomas Impey 

of Uxbridge in the County of Middx Gent conditioned that my

heirs executors or administrators shall after my decease yearly and every

year during the natural life of Hannah my said wife pay of cause to be 

paid unto my said wife Hannah one annuity yearly rent or sum of 

eight pounds of lawful of England at the four most usual feasts

or days of payment in the year that is to say the birth of our Lord God

the anniversary of the blessed Virgin Mary St John Baptist and St 

Michael the Archangel by even and equal portions at or in the now dwelling

house of the said Thomas Impey situate and being in Uxbridge 

aforesaid the first payment where of to begin and to be made at such of the 

said feast days as shall next happen after my decease which said 

annuity yearly rent or sum of eight pounds I devise to be paid as the 

same shall become due by my Executors hereinafter named Item I give and 

bequeath unto the three daughters of my Brother Robert Child late of 

Heese in the Count of Middx Gentleman deceased Vist Mary Fisher 

Widow Elianor Bromfield Widow sand Catherine Child the sum of 

ninety pounds apiece to be paid to them within one year next after my

decease Item I give and bequeath unto Edmond Southern of Tharpe in the 

County of Berks the sum of five pounds of lawful English money Item

I give and bequeath unto the three children of William King of Ashford

in the said County of Middx which he had by his first wife Vizt Willaim

King Elizabeth and Susannah King the sum of five pounds apiece of like

money Item I give and bequeath unto William Haynes son of William

Haynes of Harmondsworth in the said County of Middx the sum of 

five pounds of like money Item I give and bequeath unto my Godson 

Peter Stile son of William Stile the sum of five pounds of like money

Item I give and bequeath unto William Style of Ditton in the parish of 

Stoke Poges in the said County of Bucks the sum of Ten pounds 

of like money Item i give and bequeath unto Richard Rayner of 

Langley Marish aforesaid and Mary his wife the sum of Ten 

shillings apiece of like money to buy their Rings Item I give and bequeath

unto my five Godchildren John Urling William Streeting Elizabeth

Hurst Peter Hedgerley and Elizabeth Alman the sum of Ten

shillings apiece of like money all which last mentioned Legacies I devise 

to be paid within six months next after my decease Item I give and 

bequeath unto such poor people of Langley Marish aforesaid which doe

not receive collection of the same to whom my Executors hereafter named 

shall think meet to bestow the same the sum of forty shillings of like 

money to be paid to them within one month next after my decease All the 

rest of my personal Estate not herein before by me bequeathed after my 

debts paid and funeral expenses discharged I give and bequeath unto 

my loving cousin Nicholas Grice of Heston in the County of 

Middx Esq whom I make and ordain sole executor of this my last Will 

and Testament by me heretofore made and do publish and declare 

this to be my last Will and Testament contained in four sheets of paper

to which every sheet hereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal

In witness whereof I the said Peter Child have hereunto set my hand 

and seal this fifth day of October in the five  and thirty year of the 

reign of our Sovereign Lord Charles the second by the grace of God

of England Scotland France and Ireland King Defender of the faith 

etc. Anno Dom One thousand six hundred eighty three Peter Child 

Sealed published and declared by the said Peter Child to be his last
