In the name of God Amen the three and twentieth day of February Anno Dmni 1670 and in the three and twentieth year of the reign of our Sovereigne Lord King Charles the Second of England &c I Dorothye Slocombe of Colebrook in the Countie of Buck widdow being weake in body but of perfect mind and memory (Thanks be to almightie God) Do make this my last will and testament in manner and forme following, First I committ my soule into the hands of almightie God and my bodie to the earth to be buryes at the discretion of my executor and executrix here after named, Item I give to my Kinsm[an] Richard Pigg the sum of twenty shillings Item I give to my sister Adry Humphey the sume of twentie shillings and to her daughter Dorothie twentie shillings to be paid at her age of twentie years Item I give to my sonne in Law John Slocombe five shillings and to his wife five shillings to buy each a payre of gloves Item I give to Edmund Slocombe tenn shillings and to his sister mary tenn shillings. Item I give to my kinswomen Margaret Martyne the summ of fifteen pounds to be payed w[it]hin one year next after my decease alsoe I give her my wedding ring and I give to my kinsman John Burcombe my next best ring Item I give to John Martyne sonne of John Martyne and the aforesaid Margarett Martyne his wife the sume of five pounds to be payed for the putting him out apprentice but if he shall happen to dye w[it]h out being put out to an apprentice then the said five pounds shalbe to his sister Dorothy Martyne Item I give to the said Dorothy Martyne the sum of five pounds to put her out apprenticed or to be payed unto her at her age of sixteen years then it shalbe to her brother John John Martyne, but if both the said children shall happen to dye before their legacied shalbe due to be payd then their legacies shall be to their mother Margarett Martyne aforesaid Item I give to my kinswoman Frances Hiller twentie shillings and my cabbinett w[i]th the silver cupp and glasses in it. Item I give to my kinswoman Adrian Mewings the sume of five pounds to be payd one year next after my decease if there shalbe then living but if she shall happen to dye or depart this life w[i]thin one year next after my decease then I give the said five pounds to my executor Item I give to my cosen Frances Johnson the sum of five pounds to be payd one year next after my decease if she shall bethen living but if she shall happen to dye or depart this life w[it]hin one year next after my decease then I give the said five pounds to my executor Item I give to my Cossin Jane Willian forthe sum of five pounds to be paid within one year next after my decease Item I give to the four children of my kinsman Thomas Burcombe and Dorothy his wife (vist) Thomas John Mary & Dorothy the sum of tenn pounds apiece to each of them to be payd at their ages of one and twentie years but if either or any of them shall happen to dye or depart this life before they shall atayne th the age of one and twentie years then the portion of him or her soe dying shall remayne to the survivor or survivors of them, Item I give to the poore people of the p[ar]ish of Horton twentie shillings Item I make the aforesaid Thomas Burcombe of Colnbrooke aforesaid mercer and Dorothy his wyfe joynt executor and executrix to this my last will and testament and doe give unto them all my goods and chattells what so evernot beofe given In witnesswhereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seale the day and year above said.
